Enjoy a drink before dinner
Joe’s Bar is small and cosy, the best place to start your meal with us
Joe’s Bar, South Embankment
From Saturday April 24th Joe’s Bar will be opening outside opposite the restaurant on the South Embankment in Dartmouth. Wander over to the big blue parasol and listen out for the sounds of laughter and corks popping, grab a table and relax. We’ll be generously pouring champagne, Seahorse rosé and mixing all of our usual Joe’s bar classics. We’re welcoming walk-in tables of up to six guests from a maximum of two households to enjoy champagne, Aperol spritz, our 2021 rosé from magnums, cold beers, Joe’s Gin, negronis, red Armagnac and more.
The South Embankment has been transformed this year, with a beautiful al fresco eating and drinking area full of umbrellas offering a casual, riviera style atmosphere. It’s a beautiful place to sit to enjoy the views in the sun with your friends so come to our happy place for a large one, you’ve earned it!
Joe’s Bar, The Seahorse
Joe’s Bar is named after one of our first guests and dear friend of one the owners Mitch Tonks. Joe loved a good bar and so it was fitting that we gave the place his name. Joe was a sailor, a lover of life and music in particular that of the great guitarist Jeff Beck.
Just as we were getting ready to serve our first drink it was Jeff that walked in and ordered a martini… Joe would have loved it and so the legend continues. A thoughtful wine menu sits alongside a short but classy cocktail list. Stop for a quick drink before or after dinner or if just passing by. And art lover’s will enjoy the backdrop of Bas Kennedy’s stunning vibrant artworks. Joe’s has become a place where locals and visitors gather inside and out to drink, enjoy congenial chat and the spirit of this very special small bar.
