About Al Gatto Nero
Venetian seafood restaurant comes to Dartmouth for one day only.
"In 2000 I was researching my second book in Venice and was directed to a restaurant called Al Gatto Nero (the black cat) on the island of Burano. What I discovered was the perfect family run seafood restaurant serving food that was simply magnificent and through our mutual love of seafood a friendship was borne with Max and his father Ruggero and mother Lucia who work in the kitchen still today. I have filmed there myself, dined as often as I can and recommended many friends including Jamie Oliver who featured Max and his family in one of his programmes. The restaurant continues to do the same things it did when I first went there and is one of my favourite places on earth.
I am delighted that Max and his family are bringing Al Gatto Nero to the Seahorse for one day only to cook one lunch and one dinner with us – this is the first time they have brought their restaurant and family to the UK to host a guest night so we couldn’t be more happy that this will happen at our restaurant in Dartmouth.
